Eclipse

The old coal company town of Hocking has been reborn as the town of Eclipse. The town was built above the Eclipse Mine #4 (closed in 1948) and was constructed by the Hocking Valley Coal Company between 1900 and 1902 to accommodate the workers at the mine.

Today the town has a new lease on life as its innovative owners have put it on the National Register of Historic Places and turned it from a decaying town into a unique destination.
